About College
The Faculty of Medicine -Sabratha University was established by Resolution No. (16)/dated 5/6/2017. The college enrolled in the study in 2016-2017, where the faculty of Medicine includes scientific departments, not specializations (18), and the college issues a bachelor’s degree in the field of medicine according to the study program and the foundations stipulated. Since its establishment, the college has sought to achieve its goals, and the most important of these goals is to serve the community by participating in various cultural and awareness-raising a
ctivities, and - also - to prepare a distinguished medical staff in terms of training and qualification and the application of modern teaching and learning methods, by implementing educational and training programs characterized by quality, and keeping pace with development. Scientific in light of the vision of universities in general, especially Sabratha University, to raise the level of higher education. College study system·
· College location: The faculty of Medicine is located in Sabratha
·Study system: In the Faculty of Medicine, the annual system is applied.
·The language of study in the college: English, in addition to the mother language (Arabic)
·The period of study at the college: 6 academic years separating (five academic years in addition to the concession year) and the student is then granted a bachelor’s degree.
· Stages of study: Four stages, which are as follows:
1) The first academic stage: the first year and the second year.
2) The second academic stage: the third year.
3) The third academic stage: the fourth and fifth years.
4) The fourth stage: the training stage (excellence).
· Scientific departments in the college: coordination departments, numbering eighteen, as follows:
1) Department of Anatomy.
2) Department of Histology and Genetics.
3) Department of Physiology.
4) Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
5) Department of Pharmacology.
6) Department of Pathology.
7) Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
8) Department of Parasitology.
9) Department of Family and Community Medicine.
10) Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.
11) Department of Ophthalmology.
12) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
13) Department of Pediatrics.
14) Internal Medicine Department.
15) Department of Surgery.
16) Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
17) Clinical Skills Department.
18) Department of Medical Education.
· Educational programs: There is one educational program in the college and its outputs is the degree of university leave (bachelor's) in medicine and surgery.
·The degree (certificate) granted by the college: a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery.
·Approved watches (units) for the program: 185 credit hours.
